WATCH FOR THE SIGN - Matthew 16:1-4
What Does it Say?  One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus, demanding that he show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove his authority.

He replied, “You know the saying, ‘Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow; red sky in the morning means foul weather all day. ’ You know how to interpret the weather signs in the sky, but you don’t know how to interpret the signs of the times! Only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign, but the only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah.” Then Jesus left them and went away
What Does it Mean?  There were lots of signs that Jesus was who He claimed to be.  He was healing the sick, the crippled, and the blind and freeing the demon possessed.  They wanted their own sign.  When we wait for a specific sign of what God wants us to do, we may be missing the signs right in front of our noses.  Do we take God at his word or do we refuse to believe for whatever reason?  Jesus was God's proof that he loved us and wanted to protect us.  Sometimes we feel like God's love and forgiveness is for everybody else, but not for us.  It doesn't matter what we have done, Jesus died to set us free; we only need to ask.  Do we really believe prayer works?  The proof is in how much we pray.  Do we really trust God to watch our back and take care of us?  He wants us to believe in him and to trust Him and follow where he leads.   Ask God to help us see what He is doing, understand what He wants us to do, and step out in faith to do it.
