CRBC Sunday Service

November 15, 2020

Welcome

On behalf of the Staff, and Board at Campbell River Baptist Church, we would like to welcome you and thank you for connecting with us today.

If you know someone who is not receiving our weekly newsletters and would like to, please encourage them to do so by calling into the office (250) 287-8831 or go directly to the website.

We are so thankful that you have continued to be the Church in so many ways each and every week!! We are the Church. Our worship of God is not confined by the walls of our building. We cannot give up gathering (Hebrews 10:23-25a), we cannot stop loving, we cannot stop giving, we cannot stop growing.

We have an opportunity to serve our faith community here in Campbell River and we want to provide you and your family with resources to stay connected to God’s word and to each other during this time.

Please use this Order of Service as a springboard to start your time of worship this morning.

God Bless

Sermon

Comfort to a Persecuted Church

Revelation 3:16  "...you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold"

Making God Gag

In Jesus' letters to the seven churches in Asia it is extremely important to understand the geography and history of each city in order to understand what the Spirit is saying to the church of today. This is especially significant with the church in Laodicea. Have you ever been in a new town and went to get a glass of water out of the tap only to discover that it had a very bad taste and odor? So bad in fact that it made you gag? That's how Jesus describes the Church in Laodicea. Seems kind of harsh doesn't it? So what is going on with this church? Check out this Sunday's sermon to find out more about the church that made God gag.

Children’s Ministry

Below is a list of children’s resources that you can use to lead your family or small group gathering.

Activity:

Idea: Jesus heals

Materials:

  • Paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Two bandaids
  1. Trace your hand and then cut it out
  2. Glue the hand onto another piece of paper
  3. Add the two bandaids in the shape of a cross to remind you that Jesus saves and Jesus heals.
  4. Write reminders that are true about Jesus and how He heals and saves.

Adaptations to craft:

Younger children can have a parent trace their hand onto a sheet of paper- they can colour in the hand instead of cutting it out and glueing it.

For older children, they can add words to the page of ways and things that Jesus heals.  (Sickness, sadness, loneliness, boo-boos, pain)

Idea: Heads down, thumbs up game (might not work for every family depending on size or ages of children).

The child puts their head down and closes their eyes, other family members play by choosing one person to touch the child’s thumb, the child has to guess which one touched them, if they guess right they switch places.

Ideas to serve in our community

Over the next few weeks, we will want to be both proactive and creative in how we maintain our community while still being wise about our health. There are many people within our body of believers here at CRBC and many more in our community who may find it difficult to get the supplies they need, day in and day out.

We would like to help facilitate during this time and we ask that you call into or email the CRBC office and provide us your name and number if:

  • For a health-related reason, you are unable to leave your residence to go shopping or get the resources that your family needs
    • Or
  • You are healthy and able to go shopping/run errands for someone in need
