CRBC Sunday Service

December 27, 2020

Welcome

On behalf of the Staff, and Board at Campbell River Baptist Church, we would like to welcome you and thank you for connecting with us today.

If you know someone who is not receiving our weekly newsletters and would like to, please encourage them to do so by calling into the office (250) 287-8831 or go directly to the website.

We are so thankful that you have continued to be the Church in so many ways each and every week!! We are the Church. Our worship of God is not confined by the walls of our building. We cannot give up gathering (Hebrews 10:23-25a), we cannot stop loving, we cannot stop giving, we cannot stop growing.

We have an opportunity to serve our faith community here in Campbell River and we want to provide you and your family with resources to stay connected to God’s word and to each other during this time.

Please use this Order of Service as a springboard to start your time of worship this morning.

God Bless

Sermon

Series: The Other Birth Narratives

Isaiah 9:6 "he will be called...Prince of Peace"

Title:  Jesus is the Prince of Peace

"Peace on earth” is a popular Christmas phase that is often met with skepticism and this year the chaos seems particularly difficult. Where is this peace? We struggle to find it personally and politically. Ideas and ideals clash sparking into new fires of unrest. Into this turmoil a baby was born, who billions name "The Prince of Peace." This Sunday join us online as we consider the message the angels gave to the shepherds  with hopes that  you will enter into His peace

Children’s Ministry

Below is a list of children’s resources that you can use to lead your family or small group gathering.

Activity:

CRAFT: Crumpled Paper Star Wand

The Wise Men saw the star in the sky and it led them all the way to Jesus.  This week you can create a star that can lead the way.  You can play follow the leader with the star.  The leader can hold the star high up in the air and the others can follow along.

Materials:

  • Colored craft papers
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Step 1: You can use all the scrap craft papers for this craft. Select different colored craft papers and cut them into small pieces. Try keeping the size relatively even.

Step 2: Take a paper cutout and crumple it into a small ball shape. Crumple enough papers to complete the craft.

Step 3: Draw a 5 point star shape on a piece of paper and cut it out nicely

Step 4: Attach the crumpled paper balls on the star-shaped paper. We started to add the crumpled ball shapes from the center of the star, but you can start from any point.

Step 5: Continue to add the crumpled paper balls until the whole star shape is filled nicely.

Step 6: Attach the crafted star on a popsicle stick.

Step 7: Cut out some paper strips and attach them on the backside of the star.

Ideas to serve in our community

Over the next few weeks, we will want to be both proactive and creative in how we maintain our community while still being wise about our health. There are many people within our body of believers here at CRBC and many more in our community who may find it difficult to get the supplies they need, day in and day out.

We would like to help facilitate during this time and we ask that you call into or email the CRBC office and provide us your name and number if:

  • For a health-related reason, you are unable to leave your residence to go shopping or get the resources that your family needs
    • Or
  • You are healthy and able to go shopping/run errands for someone in need
