Dear CRBC Family,
I am reaching out today to update you on what has been happening at CRBC over the last 2 weeks.

General Ministry Info:
As you now know, all in person CRBC services and activities have been suspended. Our staff have been relegated to mostly working from home and working with precaution if in the building. They have done an exemplary job of preparing online content in order for us to participate together as a church family on Sunday mornings.
Our staff have been working diligently and thoughtfully, regularly meeting through online Zoom meetings and other online mediums.

Our Youth and Young Adult Teams have been preparing online content for mid-week ministry. The Seniors Ministry team has been working on ways to stay connected. Children’s ministry is providing age appropriate online content for Rooted Kids to supplement the Sunday morning service content.

Visitation is getting more difficult, but we are using telephone and other online strategies to make sure we continue to support those in need.

Radiant Life handed out bagged lunches Sunday afternoon and is coordinating with its partners to continue to supply meals in line with VIHA recommended essential service, at this time this is the plan. Clearly our ability for operating ministry programs as we are used to is not possible. Please join in and participate with us as we continue to be creatively connected.

Pastor David Lee will be providing our Sermons via video for the next number of weeks. He is also meeting with our staff via Zoom, online, to provide encouragement and advice and to walk with them through a spiritual care devotional on Philosophy of Ministry. He will also be available through technology to our staff for any needs they may have.

Pastor Lee will also be advising and helping our leadership team when we are able to continue our Lead Pastor search process. Obviously our way forward is hindered by the current realities of the Covid-19 crisis. I will communicate more info as it becomes available.

Please make regular use of our website to access ministry content: https://www.crbaptist.bc.ca/

Call the office at 250-287-8831 If you need help with online content or any concerns you may have. Voicemail accounts and call forwarding contingencies are in place.

Take the time to explore our website. The information is there! Access and join our social media accounts. Stay connected!

Hebrews 10: 23-25
23Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Thank you Lord that you have provided the means by which we can continue to stay connected to our church family!

Annual Finance Meeting and Financial Info:
Our Annual Finance meeting is postponed until further notice. I want you to know, we are watching the finances very closely. We are stretched beyond thin. Your continued support and trust will be crucial at this time.

We will be operating on a cost based structure, and have reduced spending to a minimum. Wehave adjusted our utility usage to reflect an empty building.

Sunshine Playschool has been closed. The teaching staff have been given their ROE’s and are faced with layoff. Please pray for Lisa and her staff as they face this difficult time.

Financial Generosity:
We realize that this is a difficult time financially for most. We do need you to continue to be generous to the capacity that you can. We want to be able to continue to help our community in this time of need. We so appreciate your generosity.

It is likely the office will soon be completely closed so we have also installed a secure drop box outside the office door if you prefer to give that way. It will be checked multiple times per day Monday through Thursday. If you choose to leave a gift in the drop box and are worried about it please leave a message at the church or email office@crbaptist.bc.ca to let the staff know it is there. Call the office at 250-287-8831 or email if you need help with online or pre authorized giving.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Thank you Lord that you are our provision and that you have always generously provided for our church family!

Additional thoughts:
We will continue to do our best in light of the circumstances. Accurate up to date communication will be difficult as things are changing so fast, please use the tools at your disposal to stay in touch with CRBC. Be sure to reach out if you are in need, or if you see a need. Continue including CRBC in your generosity. Practice growing in the Fruit of the Spirit, exercising your capacities for each one.

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Pray for and follow the instructions of our Government. Keep yourself and others safe. Pray for those afflicted and those who are on the front lines of caring for those afflicted. Pray for the lonely and heartbroken. Pray for those who have no place to turn. Pray for non-profits and Churches who desire to serve and are restricted. Pray for the churches of Campbell River, our province, our country and the world. Pray for your church family, staff and leadership. Pray
without ceasing!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Psalm 86:12-13
12 With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever,13 for your love for me is very great....

Thank you Lord that our joy is found in you and that you have given us voices to give all praise, glory and honor to you!

I thank you CRBC for your prayers and support during this time,

Dale Stevens, CRBC board chair.
