Ruth 1:1-22
Is God against you when things go wrong?

How do we respond when our lives fall apart and face situations we cannot comprehend? What do we do when we are confronted with loss, grief, and uncertainty? These are the questions that arise as we delve into the story of Ruth. In the opening chapter of Ruth, we are immediately confronted with pain and questions. Like all good stories, it begins with a dose of reality, reminding us that life is not always smooth sailing. We witness the characters grappling with unexpected suffering and we find ourselves relating to their struggles. But Ruth teaches us something surprising. It teaches that when things fall apart, it is possible to grow in faith and reliance on God. It teaches that suffering can coexist with comfort, because our pain does not ultimately define us. This week, may we find inspiration in Ruth’s story and respond to our own trials with steadfast trust in the One who holds our lives in His hands. Please pray for Pastor Steve and the team as they prepare the service. We are looking forward to what God is going to do this Sunday!
