Proverbs 4:1-9
Wisdom for Close Relationships

Do you pretend in your relationships? All of us have a picture of what we want our relationships to be like. Maybe it’s a friendship, a marriage, or your relationship with your kids or grandkids. We can picture the flawless ideal that we try to live up to. We may ask ourselves, “why do some single people have close friendships and others struggle? Why are some couples still in love and others not? Why did my kids turn out to be such monsters and other kids seem perfect?” Rather than focusing on a perfect picture of what we think our close relationships should look like, Proverbs tells us to ask a different question. The question we need to ask is, are we applying wisdom to our close relationships? This Sunday, Pastor Steve will continue our sermon series in Proverbs called “Lessons in Wisdom from Solomon,” and he will be talking about “wisdom for close relationships!”
