Acts 1:1-8
Praying Our Way Forward (Part 1)

Waiting on God is one of the most challenging aspects of our Christian life. It can almost seem counterproductive to stop doing things for God and wait until He gives clear direction. However, we must not move ahead of the Lord’s leading or lose heart in the waiting! Waiting on God is not a passive activity but an active dependence upon God. Waiting is the daily collection of manna in the wilderness. As we wait, we learn to seek Him through continuous prayer. We learn to trust Him with our future. We are also renewed and strengthened as we rely on His grace and provision. As Isaiah 40:31 says, “but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” As we wait on God, let’s pray for greater things to be done in our church and in our city.
