This Sunday, we continue our sermon series called “War for your soul,” addressing the sword of the Spirit. The final part of the armour of God is not a high-tech, long-range weapon but a sword that is wielded with precision in close combat. This means that if we are going to defeat our temptations and seek to live fruitful, holy lives, then we will need to get up close and personal and learn how to use the sword of the Spirit. Like ancient warfare, the fight against the enemy is exhausting, messy, and up close and personal.
Whether you have been with us for the entire series, or if this is your first time with us, it's a perfect way to start the year off right, with a renewed focus on defending ourselves against the enemy's schemes, and also the way in which we are called to fight back.
