I was born in Zambia, Africa before moving to Canada at age 10. I have been married to Dawn for 45 years and we have two married daughters, one in Vancouver and one here in Campbell River. I pastored in Lethbridge, Fort St. John, where we started a new church, and Coquitlam, then spent 22 years as senior pastor at Westview Baptist Church in Calgary, where we started another new church. During this time Dawn, my wife, was the children and family pastor. Westview was very similar in size and pastoral positions and outlook to CRBC which makes us feel very at home here. After forty years of full-time ministry, we retired to Campbell River in 2022 to be closer to our grandchildren but also to continue ministering for God.
I love learning and have a Master of Divinity and Master of theology degree from Regent College in Vancouver, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Seminary in Los Angeles as well as many other courses and seminars. I have also taught as an adjunct professor in the graduate program at Ambrose Seminary in Calgary.
I value discipleship, leadership, evangelism, and church planting. I have a passion to see people grow to become all that God made them to be. I also have a passion to see people new to Canada embraced and welcomed into the church so that the congregation reflects the mosaic that is our world. My primary gifts are preaching, teaching, leadership, and starting and developing new ministries and churches.
I am excited to be part of CRBC and to be part of the great adventure of taking the next steps with God and seeing where he leads.
