What does wisdom look like?

Do our actions reflect the wisdom of God? Do they display love, mercy, and a commitment to peace, or are they driven by selfish ambition, jealousy, and confusion? James encourages us to pursue Godly wisdom and warns against the dangers of what he would call earthly wisdom. He is saying that Godly wisdom is tied to knowing Jesus in a way that demonstrates good works in action. Wisdom from above produces good fruit in the life of those who follow Him. Wisdom is not displayed through eloquent speech or philosophical insight. Heavenly wisdom is not cute sayings, dad jokes, or sage advice. It’s not being the smartest person in the room. James is saying if you know the God of wisdom, beautiful Christlike character will flow out of you.
