HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS - Matthew 14:34-36
What Does it Say?  Jesus and His disciples docked the boat at Gennesaret.  The men recognised Jesus and brought all the sick people to Him for healing.  They asked Jesus if they could just touch His garment believing they would be healed and they were.
What Does it Mean?  Father this story reminds me of what Jeff said about being treated like rock stars when he arrived at the projects in Peru with Compassion Canada.  The people knew the help they were receiving through sponsorship was coming to them through Compassion Canada.  When Jesus got out of the boat at Gennesaret, the people were excited to see Him because He was their only hope for healing.  The people that welcomed Jeff and the CC team were excited to see them because they offered hope in a hopeless situation.  Jeff mentioned several times the difference having a child sponsored by CC made to a family in Peru.  Jesus offers us hope.  True freedom is not possible outside of a relationship with God.  The sick were only healed if they came to Jesus and touched his garment.  Jesus can make a difference in our lives, but only if we reach out to Him.  When we are honest and share our heart with Him, He gives us hope where there is no hope.  He can change hearts; ours and other people’s.  He can change impossible situations.    What situation in your life seems hopeless?  Talk to God about it today and let him give you hope.
