DON'T GIVE UP - Matthew 15:21-28
What Does it Say?  A Canaanite woman begged Jesus to free her daughter from demonic oppression.  Jesus told her He was sent to the Israelites and shouldn't take from them to give to her.  She said that even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the table.  Jesus told her she had great faith and healed her daughter as she requested.
What Does it Mean?  Jesus had come to minister to the Jews, so it is unlikely she had met Jesus or followed him, but she came anyway on behalf of her daughter.  Many people come to Jesus first because they need something from him.  Jesus was merciful and He helped her even though she was not a Jew because of her faith.  God is merciful and will help us when we come to him with our problems or the needs of our loved ones.  Jesus wants us to come to him with whatever is troubling us.  He wants a relationship with us and will never turn us away.  Share your concerns with Jesus today.  We live in a world that does not know Jesus, but people do have needs that Jesus would love to help them with.  Who do you know that would benefit from what Jesus has to offer?  The Canaanite women did not give up easy begging Jesus to help her daughter.  When He gave her reasons why He couldn't help her, she gave reasons why He should help her.  She knew Jesus was the only hope for her daughter and she was determined to get the help her daughter needed.  We need to be determined too when we come to Jesus on behalf of our loved ones and not give up until our prayers are answered.
