New sermon series: What does it mean to be human?

Campbell River Baptist Church
CRBC Newsletter (May 11th, 2025)
We are made to be relational

We are made to be relational

What does it mean to be human in a world that seems to have forgotten?
This week, we will examine how we were made in God’s image, not just to exist but to reflect Him and participate in deep relationship. You were designed with dignity, purpose, and the capacity for real connection, with God and with others. But something went wrong, and that’s why so many of us feel isolated, misunderstood, or invisible. This week, we’re diving into the beauty of being made in God’s image and the tragedy of what we’ve lost. Come explore how reclaiming God’s design for humanity could transform your relationships and restore your soul.

Please pray for Pastor Steve and the team as they prepare for the service. We are looking forward to what God is going to do this Sunday!

Celebrate: Newcomer's Lunch

Celebrate: Newcomer's Lunch

We are so grateful for all the volunteers who made our newcomers lunch a success. There were 22 people who attended! Our hope as always is to continue equipping people to take their next step with Jesus, and we saw that happening on Sunday. We continue to see how these small steps we take are transforming lives and our community. Thank you for your continued courage in stepping out and sharing the love you have received with others.

Grieving the loss of Grace Brown

Grieving the loss of Grace Brown

Our community is grieving the sudden loss of Grace Brown, a grade 12 student who attended Carihi and attended our youth group. Our staff team is available if you or someone you know are in need of counsel, prayer, or are struggling with the impact of this loss. Please call 250-887-8831 if you are in need of help. For a mental health crisis after hours please call 1-800-784-2433 for immediate support. We have a list of community resources that are also available for trauma counselling, grief support, and mental health. We are devoted to prayer during this time, and practical support is being routed to the family through close friends. The meal train that was made for the family is already full. We are so grateful for your continued love and willingness to participate in walking alongside those in grief during this incredibly difficult time.

Membership Class

Membership Class

On Sunday, May 25th, we will be hosting a membership class following the Sunday Service.

Church membership is not about adding some requirement to the call of Jesus. It’s about a local church taking specific responsibility for a Christian, and a Christian taking responsibility for a local church. It’s about “embodying,” and “living out,” our membership in Christ’s universal body.

If you would like to explore taking these next steps with CRBC, then please register below.
