“What are you willing to risk for the sake of the gospel?”

In Acts 4:1-22, we see the early believers facing persecution as they risk proclaiming the gospel. As the disciples face opposition, they risk their safety and reputation. Despite resistance, they stand firm on the cornerstone of their faith, Jesus Christ, refusing to compromise their convictions. Their transformed lives are marked by boldness, as they speak the truth fearlessly, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Today, we are challenged to consider: What are we willing to risk for the sake of the gospel? What is the cornerstone of our life? Where is God calling us to be bold? Please pray for Pastor Steve and the team as they prepare the service. We are looking forward to what God is going to do this Sunday!

Impact 2024

7 of our church leadership travelled to Penticton this last week to our regional conference for Fellowship Pacific called Impact. Impact is an annual event where we gather in one place to celebrate what God has done in the past year, look ahead to where we’re going, and be equipped for the steps we need to take right now.

Some highlights for us were:

- travelling together (yes - all 7 of us) in one vehicle

- hearing stories of what God is doing in our region and beyond

- being encouraged to go boldly forward with our faith in our communities

- connecting with other pastors, church staff, lay leaders and agencies on mission with us throughout BC and the Yukon

- being inspired to deeply invest in generations, in particular, the generation that is coming up behind us.

We are encouraged, inspired and grateful.

Child Dedication

Seven families were part of our child dedication this past Sunday! What a beautiful community we have to raise our children in. Thank you for committing alongside our parents that we will teach the next generation to put their trust in Jesus, the one who saves. Please lift up these parents in prayer.

Church membership is not about adding some requirement to the call of Jesus. It’s about a local church taking specific responsibility for a Christian, and a Christian taking responsibility for a local church. It’s about “embodying,” and “living out,” our membership in Christ’s universal body.
