Why do we turn our back on God? Is it self-discovery? Is it fear? Is it wanting control of our lives? Is it a combination of both? This week, we delve into the timeless parable of the Prodigal Son from Luke 15:11-32. This story resonates deeply as it portrays the profound human inclination to stray from God’s loving presence. What makes this story truly compelling is the way it exposes the sins of both sons. The prodigal son’s reckless living and the elder son’s self-righteousness serve as poignant reminders of our own shortcomings. As we unpack this parable, we’re confronted with the raw realities of our own lives. We see ourselves mirrored in the prodigal’s hasty choices and in the elder son’s reluctance to celebrate the love of God. This parable, with its vivid characters and deep lessons, compels us to reflect on our own journey back to God, recognizing that, like both sons, we too have sinned and are in need of His mercy. There's been a lot of buzz about our next membership class! Have you been wondering what membership is all about? Have you been wanting to commit to our church and have a vote in business matters? We need people from all age demographics to join our membership. Please register for the membership information class on Nov 5th. There is no pressure to become a member once you have attended, it is for information only, and a neccesary step in our process. There will be time to learn about our church, and learn a little about you, and time for questions.

Our vision is: Equipping people to take the next steps with Jesus, transforming our lives and our community. As we are moving this vision forward, we want to be more intentional about discipleship, including pastoral care. Irwin Harder has already been a big part of pastoral care in our church, and he has now completed all the classes required for his Masters in Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care through Northwest Baptist Seminary. As Irwin seeks to complete his practicuum, he will be available up to 10 hours each week for pastoral care in the form of a home or hospital visit.

There are many people right now who are struggling to keep food on the table. We are so grateful for our church and how faithful you have been in supporting these families and individuals. Thank you!
