The Light that has a nameAdvent 2022 Where do you go when you are hurting, tired, and feel like you want to give up? What name do you call on when you need help? The name of Jesus is like no other name. Just to whisper this name as a prayer can drive out the darkness. Today, we will focus on the four names given to the Christmas Child in a prophecy from Isaiah that occurred 700 years before Jesus was born. Those four names were 1) Wonderful Counsellor 2) Mighty God 3) Everlasting Father 4) Prince of Peace. These names of Jesus are one of the clearest and most meaningful Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament. Isaiah’s role was to point Israel in the right direction so they could be ultimately be delivered by the light that has a name. Throughout time, many have resisted this name and sadly remain blind to who Jesus is. Have you called on the name of Jesus? For more infomation visit:

Advent: Joy
Join us this Sunday hear an advent reading from Gregg and Bev Mitchell, and light the candle of joy. Joy can come to us in the strangest times and places, even right now. Joy can come before the baby is born, before your plans have come to fruition, before the diagnosis, before the suffering has passed. "Joy is not the absence of suffering, but the presence of God" (Stuart). Pray that joy can reign over fear this week in the lives of those who are struggling. Pray for the truth of the light to break through, the light that has a name. |
