Proverbs

Proverbs

A challenge to rule yourself

In what areas of our life do we exercise self-control? Where do you have boundaries? Where are you lacking boundaries? Are there times you deny yourself?
As you might have noticed, our culture says, “throw off the restrictions, indulge your cravings, and enjoy yourself! The pursuit of pleasure will bring you happiness.” But Jesus shows us a different way, that living a life of pursuing pleasure will ultimately lead to emptiness and captivity. This week Pastor Steve is talking about how Proverbs portrays self-control as a wall that protects a city. Proverbs tells us that metaphorical walls are needed to guide us on the path to developing wise thinking and deep character. We look forward to walking these paths with you!

Food Cupboard Donations

Food Cupboard Donations

In the months of June and July, we have been able to give groceries to 9 families (making the total of 40 food cupboard recipients in 2022). The food we give out is from shelf-stable food donations that are being brought in by YOU! Because the demand is fairly high right now, the supply in our cupboard is running low.  If you are able to help out by bringing in an item or two we could fill the cupboard again having supplies ready for the next family in need.

Here are some ideas that are always needed and enjoyed by those receiving groceries: granola bars, cereal, pasta & sauce, rice, apple sauce, pudding cups, cookies, soup, kraft dinner, oatmeal.

Donations can be dropped off on Sunday at the giving kiosk or at the church office,  Monday - Thursday 9am-4pm

Thank you for serving and caring for others.

 Benevolent Fund

Benevolent Fund

What is the 'Benevolent Fund'?

The benevolent fund is a way that we collect and disperse money to those in our community who are in need. It is separate from our general giving. The money that is donated to the benevolent fund is used to buy grocery gift cards for those who are in need. At times the fund is used to refill the food cupboard if food donations are low.

Did you know that you can give to the benevolent fund anytime?   Just be sure to designate your donation on your giving envelope or in the notes through online giving to the 'benevolent fund'.

Did you know that all the net profits from the 'Bean Bar' (the specialty coffee bar open on Sundays) also go into the benevolent fund?

We are so grateful that we can, together, meet some of the physical/practical needs of people in our community.
