Psalm 78:3 & 4  “what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us.  We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.”

Deuteronomy 6:5-7  “….Impress them on your children….”

Ephesians 6:4b  “Fathers….bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

 Tool Box for the future

Upon graduation from elementary school, children are expected to remain with their families in the service.  Begin to give your child tools to listen, to hear, to engage and practice active listening. 

Communion is also a part of the planned quarterly family service.  Engage in conversations with your children regarding why and what you are doing. Do this before and after the service. 1 Corinthians 11:23-33/Luke 22:19&20

  • July 5th 

 Set each child up for success

  • Pre-load your children with dates of the family services
  • Discussdifferent ideas as a family to promote learning, conversation and engagement.
  • Engage in conversation with your children;
  1. What did you find interesting about church today?
  2. Do you have any questions about church or what you heard today?
    1. What was your favourite song? Why?
      1. What did you like about church today? What didn’t you like? Why?

                  Give them tools:

  • Provide note taking tools

Note taking can include, games, pictures, key words, song selection etc

  • Bible Books (or picture Bibles)
  • Coloring Pages
