Last Sunday, August 16, was an exciting day for us at CRBC.  Immediately following the service approximately 100 people joined us at McIvor Lake Lions Beach for a BBQ potluck lunch together.  Michelle & Shane Stewart and Ivan and Margo Black went out to the lake early and set up and BBQ’d the hot dogs so they were ready when we got there.

After connecting with friends over a leisurely lunch on a beautiful day, we took our chairs down to the beach for the Baptismal Service.  Jim Miller and Gerry Derksen led us in a couple of our favorite worship songs, Pastor Jeff explained what Baptism was all about and we cheered as we watched the baptisms.

Baptism is sometimes misunderstood; thinking that we are saved through the physical act of Baptism. Baptism does not save us.  It is actually for those who have already made an informed decision to follow Jesus as a public declaration of our faith and our intention to follow Jesus.  Everyone who believes in Jesus is commanded to follow His example into the waters of Baptism.  If you have never taken this step of obedience, I encourage you to talk to a CRBC staff member at 250-287-8831 and start moving forward in your relationship with Jesus.

Last Sunday, six people took this step of obedience: Brent Warriner, Julia Vander Zee, Rachel Bourque, Michelle Stewart, Kayla Uzzell, and Georgia Braye.  Check out our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/crbaptist/photos_stream if you would like to see the pictures.
